At Berewood Primary School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, including helping children to stay safe online. E-safety is taught through our Computing curriculum, PSHE, Relationships Education and regular safeguarding activities, ensuring that pupils develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to use technology safely, responsibly and respectfully.

Our online safety education is informed by the Department for Education's Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance and the UK Council for Internet Safety's Education for a Connected World Framework. Pupils learn about privacy and security, healthy online relationships, managing online information, cyberbullying, digital wellbeing, and how to report concerns and seek help when needed. 

Technology provides children with fantastic opportunities to learn, communicate and be creative. However, it is important that children understand how to recognise potential risks and make safe choices online. We work closely with parents and carers to promote consistent messages about online safety, and we encourage families to talk regularly about their child's online activities.
